Students practice role play in pairs

Role plays can be an excellent way for students to learn new words, practice their pronunciation, and develop fluency when speaking.

I wrote a short role play on the board, which students copied into their notebooks.  As a whole class, we practiced speaking the role play, before I had students practice in pairs.

Role plays are tightly structured sentence frames, and because of this, student engagement is very high when I ask them read the role play in pairs.
